House Painters in Holmdel, NJ

Holmdel is a Monmouth County township with one ZIP code, 07733, formed in 1857 from part of what was then Raritan Township. Its housing is younger than most of the county's. The Census Bureau's American Community Survey for 2020 to 2024 counts about 6,500 homes in Holmdel and dates 53 percent of them to the three decades from 1980 to 2009, with the 1990s the busiest single decade at 27 percent. Only 39 percent were built before 1980, and about 3 percent before 1940.

The older Holmdel is still there in places. The Holmdel Dutch Reformed Church on Main Street, a Greek Revival building of 1838, is on the National Register of Historic Places, as are the Holmes-Hendrickson House and Longstreet Farm, which sits inside the county's Holmdel Park. The Horn Antenna on Crawford Hill and the former Bell Laboratories building are listed too. We found no local historic district or preservation commission in Holmdel, so on a private house the exterior color is the owner's choice. In the township's planned developments, check the homeowners' association rules before you settle on siding, trim or door colors, because an association can set its own exterior color rules and expect a request before work starts.

Houses from the 1980s and 1990s set the pattern for most painting here.
